Role Overview

RPS Group is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Advisory Specialist to join our Advisory Services – Commercial and Delivery team in Victoria.

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to provide strategic and specialist advice and support to clients delivering major public and private sector infrastructure projects and programs in the renewable energy, transport, utilities, defence, and social infrastructure sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Representing RPS Group, provide strategic and specialist advice and support to clients delivering major public and private sector infrastructure projects and programs.
  • Support public and private sector clients with all elements of cost estimation and associated advice to implement major infrastructure project works and services.
  • Identify, endorse, and achieve clear engagement and project objectives.
  • Manage and resolve key risks and issues.
  • Support the management and coordination of inputs and deliverables to ensure on-time and high-quality outcomes.
  • Support the development of progress reports, briefs, and other deliverables and reporting to project governance meetings.

Requirements

  • A tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Law, Engineering, or other relevant field.
  • 1+ years of proven experience delivering cost advisory services.
  • Good level of verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Aptitude for critical thinking, logic, and reasoning as it relates to cost advisory work.
  • Good interpersonal skills, confidence, and professionalism.
  • Financial and commercial aptitude, and the ability to prepare accurate cost plans.
  • An opportunity mindset, that contributes to identifying new projects and supports team leaders to build relationships and opportunities for future projects.
  • Good computer literacy including Microsoft Office, and preferably CostX (not essential).
  • The ability to collaborate as part of a high-performing team.
  • Good attention to detail, supporting the accuracy of work.
  • A strong work ethic, good organisational skills, and the ability to meet strict deadlines within a fast-paced working environment.
