Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Scientist to join our Haematology Laboratory team at Alfred Health. As a Morphology Scientist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality pathology testing and consultation services to clinicians and patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and interpret blood film morphology tests to diagnose and monitor haematological disorders
- Develop and maintain expertise in laboratory haematology and its practical applications
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure accurate and timely test results
- Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities to maintain laboratory standards
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new testing procedures and protocols
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree of Applied Science or equivalent
- Advanced knowledge in blood film morphology
- Sound knowledge of laboratory haematology and its practical applications
- Sound knowledge of clinical haematology and its practical applications
- Sound knowledge of recent advances in clinical haematology
Desirable Qualifications
- Competence in transfusion, haematological and coagulation results
- Competence in Flow Cytometry processing and analysis
- Competence in Immunology testing
