Southern Waste Solutions is the business arm of the Copping Refuse Disposal Site Joint Authority. Its mission is to provide environmentally sound waste management services that meet community standards and expectations.

The company operates two major facilities: the Lutana Waste Transfer Station and the Copping Refuse Disposal Site. The latter features Tasmania's only C cell disposal site, alongside B cell facilities. Southern Waste Solutions also supports other waste transfer stations and transports waste from several locations to its main facility.

A unique opportunity has arisen for a new director to join the board and contribute to building on recent momentum. The successful applicant will have demonstrated board and leadership capability, together with significant financial expertise, commercial skills, and an audit and risk understanding.

Strategic and innovative thinking, a collaborative approach, and sound governance skills are essential requirements for this role. The board comprises the Board Chair and four directors, reporting to the Authority.
