Overview of the Role
The Coding Quality Coordinator is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive coding quality program, ensuring accurate, consistent, and timely coding practices.
- Commitment to ongoing quality improvement and expertise in quality management activities related to coded data.
- Develop and execute coding quality improvement initiatives tailored to an Activity-Based Funding environment.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting coding audits, training staff, and facilitating coding education programs.
- Excellent communication skills to foster effective collaboration with staff at all levels.
- Advanced knowledge of DRG assignment principles for ABF and Queensland Health performance metrics.
Essential Requirements:
- A degree in Health Information Management or equivalent is preferred.
- A Clinical Coding Auditing Qualification is highly regarded.
- Up-to-date vaccination against specified vaccine-preventable diseases as outlined in the Health Employment Directive.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Leading the development and implementation of coding quality strategies.
- Maintaining high standards of coding accuracy and consistency.
- Providing expert guidance on DRG assignment principles and Queensland Health key performance indicators.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of coding quality initiatives.
