Overview of the Role

The Coding Quality Coordinator is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive coding quality program, ensuring accurate, consistent, and timely coding practices.

  • Commitment to ongoing quality improvement and expertise in quality management activities related to coded data.
  • Develop and execute coding quality improvement initiatives tailored to an Activity-Based Funding environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting coding audits, training staff, and facilitating coding education programs.
  • Excellent communication skills to foster effective collaboration with staff at all levels.
  • Advanced knowledge of DRG assignment principles for ABF and Queensland Health performance metrics.

Essential Requirements:

  • A degree in Health Information Management or equivalent is preferred.
  • A Clinical Coding Auditing Qualification is highly regarded.
  • Up-to-date vaccination against specified vaccine-preventable diseases as outlined in the Health Employment Directive.

  • Maintaining high standards of coding accuracy and consistency.
  • Providing expert guidance on DRG assignment principles and Queensland Health key performance indicators.
