About the Role
The Chair in Nursing (Monash Health) is a key academic and professional leadership position that will provide academic and professional leadership to clinical and academic staff and students of Deakin University and Monash Health.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain networks within Deakin University, Monash Health, and the national/international nursing professional community to advance research and clinical priorities.
- Lead and participate in university and health service committees, contributing to governance and collegial life.
- Promote Deakin University and Monash Health to prospective students, professional, industry, and government bodies.
- Contribute to the achievement of Monash Health patient safety and quality strategic priorities.
- Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and policies.
- Represent nursing and midwifery at Monash Health and contribute to health service, university, and state committees.
Key Selection Criteria
- PhD in a relevant field and eligibility or registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a registered nurse.
- Demonstrable academic leadership and professional expertise in nursing.
- An internationally recognised research profile and scholarly publications in nursing.
- Success in securing research funding and supervising students.
- Evidence of ability to build partnerships with professional, industry, and government organisations.
