We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at Ringwood Clinic, delivering exceptional Radiation Oncology nursing services.

The successful candidate will be part of a small team of nurses who strive to provide the best patient experience possible. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to give our patients an exceptional treatment experience. A background in oncology nursing is preferred but not essential, as we have a friendly and knowledgeable team who can train you.

We are seeking a motivated nurse who is flexible and reliable, with exemplary communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to demonstrate empathy for our patients and their carers. On offer is a full-time maximum term contract until September 2025.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide excellent patient care, ensuring patient's physical and psychological needs are met.
  • Undertake direct patient care including education, wound management and medication administration as per Practice Protocol.
  • Effectively manage the patients that are seen each day.
  • Facilitate effective lines of communication with doctors, patient services, physicists and radiation therapists and provide feedback and up-to-date information regarding patients.
  • Ensure all patient interaction is documented, communicated and actioned.
  • Monitor and maintain procedures, protocols, practices and clinical guidelines in line with best practice radiation oncology nursing standards.
  • Ensure medication management protocols are followed.
  • Use ISBAR communication tool for handover of patients and communication with allied health services along with documentation.
  • Demonstrate reliability, motivation and flexibility.
Requirements:
  • A current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • A minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience (preferred).
  • A background in oncology nursing is preferred but not essential.
  • Exemplary interpersonal communication skills with the ability to demonstrate empathy for all patients and their carers.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to the application of best practice principles and quality improvement including the NSQHS.
  • Commitment to continuing professional development.
  • Experience in wound care management.
