Job Overview
">This role involves the operation of Haematology analysers, performing manual and automated diagnostic testing, and conducting routine procedures from specimen reception to result execution for pathological diagnosis.
">Key Responsibilities
">- Operation of Haematology analysers
- Performing manual and automated diagnostic testing
- Executing all routine procedures from point of specimen reception to result execution for pathological diagnosis
- Assisting with stock control
- Maintaining compliance with records maintenance and recording results in line with protocols
- Maintaining equipment and operating it in accordance with protocols
- Participating in quality assurance activities
- Contributing to continuous improvement and development of new assays as required
- Training staff
- Liaising with stakeholders regarding test results or referrals as necessary
Required Qualifications and Skills
">- Diploma in Laboratory Technology, Associate Degree or equivalent
- Experience, knowledge, expertise, and skills within Haematology (preferred)
- Sound knowledge of QC, QAP, and troubleshooting
- Able to identify, develop, and implement quality and service improvement activities
- Ability to work independently with infrequent supervision
- Commitment to quality and excellence
- Willingness to adhere to policies and procedures
- Positive attitude towards achieving outcomes and being a cohesive team member
- Strong time management, interpersonal communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to cope and thrive in a busy environment
