Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our pharmacy team as a Pharmacy Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, or Production Assistant. The successful candidate will work in a team environment with pharmacists, technicians, and other support staff to deliver exceptional patient care and service.
Key Responsibilities
- Supplying medications to specialty clinics, including those catering to cystic fibrosis, dialysis, and eye clinic patients.
- Liaising with Mater Mothers Hospital patients to support their maternity needs, including managing our unique breast pump hire service.
- Assisting with our community vaccination clinic, providing services to the public for their National Immunisation Program vaccination needs.
- Managing dose administration aids to ensure patients receive their medications accurately and on time.
- Collaborating with health professionals to provide responsive customer-focused service.
Production Assistant
The Production Assistant will be responsible for the timely manufacture and delivery of a diverse range of high-quality, specialized sterile (including cytotoxic) and non-sterile pharmaceutical products. This will include:
- Preparing and manufacturing sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the Code of Good Manufacturing Practice and compliance with established policy and procedures for maintaining a safe, secure, and efficient production service.
- Maintaining required aseptic production competencies by successfully performing annual aseptic technique validation and completion of Chemo Check.
- Participating in quality assurance and quality improvement activities to ensure the highest standard of product quality for all clients.
Requirements
- A professional attitude, effective communication skills, and a high level of attention to detail.
- Passion for customer service and appreciation of the importance of delivering exceptional service every time.
- Professional, hardworking attitude, and willingness to work cooperatively and effectively with all team members.
- Previous relevant work experience is highly desirable.
- Completed or be willing to undertake Certificate II or III in Hospital/Community Pharmacy (or equivalent).
