Job Summary

The University of Wollongong is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Student Accessibility and Inclusion Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our student support services, you will provide expert advice and support to students with disabilities or medical conditions, helping them to succeed in their studies and achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist support to students with disabilities or medical conditions, including assessments, recommendations, and adjustments.
  • Work closely with faculties and professional units to deliver inclusive practices and promote equitable academic success.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote accessibility and inclusion, including assistive technology and cultural respectful practices.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and student-centered approach to support services.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as occupational therapy, education, or psychology.
  • At least four years of experience in a related field, including assessing barriers, recommending adjustments, and providing specialist support.
  • Contemporary knowledge of challenges faced by students with disabilities and equity groups in higher education.
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Experience in assistive technology and a commitment to culturally respectful and inclusive practices.
