Leadership Opportunity

The City of South Pasadena offers a chance to lead a progressive law enforcement department with a rich history of community policing. As the next Police Chief, you will provide vision and strategic leadership to shape public safety strategies in a dynamic community.

About the Position

This role requires providing integrity, transparency, and modern policing practices. Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Department leadership and oversight
  • Strategic planning and regional collaboration
  • Community engagement and organizational effectiveness
  • Budgeting and fiscal responsibility
  • Ethics and accountability

A Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration or a related field is required. Possession of a P.O.S.T. Management Certificate is also necessary. A Master's Degree and graduation from P.O.S.T. Command College or the FBI National Academy are highly desirable.

A minimum of ten years of experience in contemporary law enforcement with progressively responsible positions in various police functions including supervision and management duties is required.
