The Deputy Clinical Services Director - Perinatal and Bed-Based Services is a key leadership role within Mercy Health, responsible for providing clinical psychiatric leadership over the entire perinatal and bed-based stream at MMH&WS.
This role works collaboratively with the Deputy Program Director/s to provide contemporary and high-quality psychiatric care to patients of the delegated stream of Mercy Mental Health.
The successful candidate will provide strong medical leadership to the program, ensuring high-quality clinical practices, and actively contribute to the leadership of the broader Mental Health Service.
This role assists in the development of relationships with key stakeholders and mapping of services in the area mental health service region, and assists in the provision of after-hours consultant psychiatry cover for the whole of service.
The role requires the ability to work extended hours on evenings and weekends and participate in the on-call roster.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical psychiatric leadership over the entire perinatal and bed-based stream at MMH&WS
- Work collaboratively with the Deputy Program Director/s to provide contemporary and high-quality psychiatric care to patients
- Provide strong medical leadership to the program, ensuring high-quality clinical practices
- Contribute to the leadership of the broader Mental Health Service
- Assist in the development of relationships with key stakeholders and mapping of services in the area mental health service region
- Provide after-hours consultant psychiatry cover for the whole of service
The successful candidate will possess:
- Registration with the Australian Medical Board (AHPRA)
- Administrative and organisational experience within the public mental health system
- Extensive experience in working effectively with consumers who have psychosocial mental health needs
- Experience in the identification and management of a range of mental health issues, including psychosis, anxiety, depression, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, and risk issues
- Autonomy, organisational skills, and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or working towards
