Travel Sales Consultant Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Travel Sales Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, extensive knowledge of global destinations, and a passion for travel.

As a Retail Travel Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for creating personalized travel itineraries, managing the customer experience from beginning to end, and promoting holiday packages, flights, hotels, cruises, tours, experiences & travel insurance.

You will build relationships with customers face-to-face and online, manage new enquiries, quotes, itineraries, amendments, and cancellations, and facilitate domestic & international travel bookings and payments between travellers & suppliers using Amadeus GDS.

The successful candidate will convert enquiries into confirmed bookings, cross-sell & up-sell of travel products, manage travel credits, refunds, and changes, attend sales meetings and achieve targets & KPIs, and participate in industry events such as supplier and product events, ship inspections, and travel expos.

Job Requirements:
  • Retail travel sales agency experience is essential.
  • Certificate 3 in Travel or higher is preferred.
  • GDS experience in Amadeus, Sabre is preferred.
  • Passion for the travel industry and personal travel experience is required.
  • Excellent customer service & communication skills are necessary.
  • Excellent organisational, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Ability to manage workflow, set goals, meet sales targets, and work productively is essential.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team is necessary.
  • Excellent personal presentation is required.

Our ideal candidate will have a combination of skills and qualifications including retail travel sales agency experience, Certificate 3 in Travel or higher, and GDS experience in Amadeus, Sabre.

They will also have a passion for the travel industry, excellent customer service and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additionally, they will require excellent organisational, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to manage workflow, set goals, meet sales targets, and work productively.

The successful candidate will also need to have excellent personal presentation.
