At BWA Group Services Pty Ltd, we are seeking a skilled Data Scientist to join our team in driving innovation and ensuring the effectiveness of our credit risk management and business automation models.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in reporting, MI, or a business analytics role and be looking to step into predictive modelling. They will possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders off varying backgrounds.

We operate in a hybrid working environment, meaning a blend between being in one of our offices and working remotely. This offers a great work-life balance and flexibility in managing your time.

In this full-time fixed-term role, you will utilise data science and modelling techniques in SAS or Python to drive model development, monitoring model performance and supporting the building, automation, and maintenance of a suite of Tableau reports.

You will play a key role in developing, managing, and maintaining our critical modelling assets, capturing business problems and views, considering them in your model builds to provide actionable insights and solutions.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around AU$120,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.

Job Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in reporting, MI, or a business analytics role.
  • Ability to generate actionable value-add insights from data using tools such as SAS, Tableau, and Python.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Risk mindset, with the ability to proactively identify and understand, openly discuss, and act on current and future risks.
  • Degree qualifications or equivalent with strong academic grades in mathematics, statistics, econometric modelling, quantitative methods, portfolio modelling, data science, computer science, or other analytical disciplines.
