Job Description

The Managing Director / General Manager will oversee daily operations and strategic direction in Australia, managing a diverse team, ensuring operational efficiency, and driving growth through innovative energy solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering Australian P&L figures that align with forecasts and established board objectives
  • Achieving sales metrics, including establishing a well-defined customer pipeline, conducting customer meetings, tracking pipeline progress, securing contract sales, and meeting annual revenue and margin targets
  • Representing Grid Beyond at events, recruiting staff, and ensuring office appropriateness
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or a related discipline (a master's degree is preferred)
  • Over 10 years of experience in the Australian energy sector or selling to major industrial companies in steel, glass, cement, chemicals, and paper & pulp industries, including CHP/s and battery storage
  • Minimum 5 years in a leadership role within a commercial team
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial sales within wholesale energy markets and ancillary services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship-building skills
  • Proven leadership and team-building capabilities
  • Financial expertise, including budgeting and financial management experience
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills
