About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Officer to join our Animal Care Services team at the University of Western Australia. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and wellbeing of animals used in research and teaching.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and treat conditions of animals in our care, including the supervision of restricted drug use.
  • Contribute to the development of competency training for ACS staff and researchers, and advise the Senior Veterinary Officer on animal health and welfare.
  • Conduct procedures requiring anaesthesia and recovery of animals used for research and teaching.
Requirements
  • A tertiary qualification in veterinary science or equivalent qualification suitable for registration in Western Australia.
  • Commitment to animal welfare and care in a research teaching environment.
  • High quality interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise and interact with all Animal Care Services stakeholders.
