Role Overview

The Senior Research Fellow will be a key member of our Research Centre for Public Health, Equity and Human Flourishing, contributing to high-quality research and delivering research outputs for current grants. The role involves working closely with the Centre Director to achieve Centre goals and contribute to the Strategic Direction of Research at Torrens University Australia.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain an active research program, producing data and research outputs in line with the Centre's research plan.
  • Undertake research, including literature and data synthesis, and prepare high-quality publications, reports, conference presentations, and communications.
  • Manage research administration, including ethics applications and reports.
  • Coordinate and deliver research seminars related to research outputs within the Centre as required.
  • Contribute to research partnerships and collaborations with industry.
  • Supervise Masters and PhD projects and mentor early career researchers within the Centre.
  • Comply with University policies on research quality and conduct and the requirements of regulatory bodies.
Requirements
  • A PhD qualification in a discipline relevant to public health.
  • A track record of high-quality research outputs using quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
  • Experience in attracting external funding and managing grant-funded research projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write high-quality academic publications and research translation materials.
  • Strong data management and synthesis skills.
  • Proficiency in data management software packages, including NVivo, SPSS, and citation software.
  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
  • Capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
