Job Summary

The role of the Universal Maternal and Child Health Lead involves overseeing the delivery of our Universal Maternal and Child Health service as well as other programs. This will entail providing guidance and leadership to ensure high-quality program delivery that meets community expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, support, and coordinate the Universal MCH Service, along with other programs and projects.
  • Provide clinical direction and guidance to MCH Nurses across the service and wider team.
  • Monitor and improve administrative systems to ensure efficient, accessible, and equitable service delivery.
  • Drive a collaborative team culture, fostering shared planning, decision-making, and objective achievement.
  • Ensure services are evidence-based, community-focused, and fully aligned with MCH guidelines and legislative requirements.
  • Build and maintain partnerships that enhance family-centred and integrated service delivery.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Current registration with AHPRA: Registered Nurse (Division 1)
  • Registered Midwife
  • Accredited postgraduate Diploma/Degree in Child and Family Health Nursing
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, leadership, and delivery of MCH services, including program and service coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and funding guidelines, as well as family and community services.
  • Proven skills in financial management, business planning, and service monitoring.
  • High-level communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and engage families effectively.
  • Understanding of integrated service delivery, community development, and family-centred practice.
  • Experience in policy implementation and responding to local community needs.
  • Previous local government experience is desirable.
