About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Merchandise Planning Assistant to join our global Planning Team at Michael Hill's Support Centre in Brisbane.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide expert support to the Planning Team, effectively managing allocations, administration, data, and system requirements for the relevant Department.

The successful candidate will work closely with our Merchandise Planners to drive category sales, profit, and inventory efficiencies for our retail and Ecomm business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the global planning team in all areas of reporting, including data analysis and insights.
  • Use advanced administration skills to ensure data integrity for the planning department, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Work in various systems, such as D365, PIM, Jasper, Onyx, and Excel, ensuring seamless integration and data alignment.
  • Manage min/max targets and stock allocations to optimize in-store availability without overstocking, while maintaining ideal store/DC mixes.
  • Conduct regular store-level reviews to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Provide Planners with actionable analytics and suggested actions to support assortment and inventory decisions.
  • Manage intake, including raising purchase orders and communicating with suppliers.
  • Effectively communicate information to multiple areas of the business, ensuring seamless collaboration and coordination.
Requirements
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to problem-solve and think critically.
  • Able to work proactively in a team environment, as well as independently, with a solutions-focused approach.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a desire to follow through with processes.
  • Possess strong communication skills to partner effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
