Job Description

The role of a Principal Tailings Engineer involves providing technical and operational support for Tailings Storage Facilities (TSFs) and Water Storage Facilities (WSF).

Key Responsibilities
  • Civil/Geotechnical/Tailings dam design.
  • Geotechnical analyses using various software packages.
  • Understanding of tailing deposition modelling.
  • Geotechnical and environmental site characterisation.
  • Development and management of instrumentation monitoring systems.
  • Project/task management and proposal preparation support.
  • Preparation of engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or a related field.
  • Advanced degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or a related field.
  • Professional registration.
  • Engineer of Record.
Experience and Qualifications
  • At least 8 years of directly relevant experience in a consulting environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant geotechnical engineering software.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
