Election Support Roles

PERSOLKELLY is a leading recruitment provider in Australia, specializing in the recruitment of professional, ICT, government, STEM, management, and executive talent.

We are currently working with the Western Australian Electoral Commission to provide a workforce for the upcoming State election.

The following roles are available to assist with the electoral process:

Issuing Officer

Issues ballot papers to electors on polling day and rotates as a ballot box guard and queue controller.

After 6 pm, becomes a counting officer to conduct the count.

  • Rotates through various roles to ensure a smooth electoral process
  • Assists with the setup and pack up of polling places
Student Electoral Officer

Year 11 or 12 students assist in polling place duties performed by officers.

Limited hours available.

  • Assists with various tasks at polling places
  • Works closely with other officers to ensure a successful electoral process
Voter Information Officer

Engaged centrally through the Electoral Ambassador program and may be assigned to polling places with high concentrations of culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) or indigenous electors.

Assists electors with language, literacy, or other requirements.

  • Provides support to electors with language or literacy barriers
  • Works closely with other officers to ensure a successful electoral process
General Assistant

Larger polling places have one to two General Assistants allocated to them.

Assists with the setup of polling places and pack up.

  • Assists with various tasks at polling places
  • Works closely with other officers to ensure a successful electoral process
Ballot Box Guard

Ensures the correct ballot box papers are put into the ballot boxes.

Rotates as an issuing officer and queue controller.

  • Rotates through various roles to ensure a smooth electoral process
  • Assists with the setup and pack up of polling places
Queue Controller

Manages the queue into the polling place and directs electors as needed.

Rotates as an issuing officer and ballot box guard.

  • Rotates through various roles to ensure a smooth electoral process
  • Assists with the setup and pack up of polling places
