About the Role

Stacked Farm is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design and optimization of components for indoor vertical farming. With a strong focus on fluid mechanics and CAD design, this role will play a critical part in developing cutting-edge solutions for indoor farming engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and engineer complex mechanical systems, including robotic, CNC'd machine components, 3D printed prototypes, folded sheet metal, pneumatics, piping, and other advanced equipment.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to document, update, improve, and publish detailed designs.
  • Produce detailed working drawings, plans, sections, schedules, assembly work packs, and specifications in a food production environment.
  • Work closely with the assembly team to ensure designs are fit for purpose and provide optimal efficiencies.

About You

The successful candidate will have a qualification in Mechanical Engineering and 3+ years of experience in complex mechanical assemblies in a food automation environment.

Requirements

  • Experience in machine design, robotics, or manufacturing environments.
  • Expertise in large mechanical assemblies or machines in food production.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in plumbing, piping, and pump systems design and maintenance.
  • High-level proficiency with CAD/CAE, 3D modeling, and Autodesk Inventor is required. Preference will be given to those with Certified Professional in Inventor for Mechanical Design.
  • Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Gold Coast region.
  • Available to travel interstate from time to time.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced team environment, solve problems, and meet deadlines.
  • Organized, focused, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and documentation skills.
  • Proven ability to apply and adhere to workplace health and safety practices.

Additional Requirements

  • Permanent Australian Residency.

Job Details

  • Job Type: Fixed term.
  • Contract length: 12 months.
  • Pay: $100,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year.
  • Schedule:
    • 8 hour shift.
    • Monday to Friday.
  • Work Location: In person.
