Job Title: Communications Strategist

We are seeking a highly skilled Communications Strategist to lead our communications and engagement activities.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will support the establishment and readiness of our Inspectorate. Key responsibilities include leading the development, coordination, and implementation of strategic communications and engagement activities that align with our objectives and functions.

Additional key responsibilities include managing public and media relations on behalf of our Inspectorate, developing and maintaining engagement strategies to promote awareness, trust, and understanding of our role, and planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating digital communications and social media strategies.

The Communications Strategist will also build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local governments, peak sector bodies, community groups, the public, the media, and other regulatory or integrity agencies.

Furthermore, the successful candidate will work closely with senior departmental officers and Inspectorate officers to ensure communications align with our regulatory objectives, and that complex or sensitive issues are managed with consistency and integrity.

Key Skills:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field would be an advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
