We are seeking a highly experienced Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and innovative solutions for the Payments Platform.

This role will focus on card issuing, acquiring, switching, and merchant services, with a strong emphasis on real-time payments, eCommerce, and omni-channel capabilities.

The successful candidate will bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in solution architecture within payments and banking domains.
  • Proven expertise with Connex or similar switching platforms.
  • Deep understanding of ISO 8583, ISO 20022, AS2805, EMV, and SWIFT messaging protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, Web Services, and MQ.
  • Familiarity with Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay, and eCommerce gateways.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Experience across both issuing and acquiring landscapes.

Key Responsibilities

Define and maintain target state architecture and roadmaps for Connex and related platforms.

Lead solution design across card scheme operations, tokenisation, 3D Secure, and digital wallets.

Provide technical leadership for digital transformation initiatives using cloud-native technologies.

Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit requirements and guide platform evolution.

Evaluate and integrate vendor solutions, ensuring compliance with scheme certifications and security standards.

Architect solutions using event-driven architecture, microservices, and containerisation.

Ensure non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, and security are met.

Mentor junior architects and contribute to architectural governance.
