Culinary Professional

We are seeking an experienced chef/cook to join our catering team at Eliza Purton in Ulverstone, Tasmania. As a chef/cook in our facility, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents.

The Role:

You will work under the guidance of the Chef Manager to prepare, cook and serve nourishing, palatable and attractive in-house meals for residents, consistent with the guidelines of the Food Safety Program.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook meals for residents in accordance with their dietary needs and preferences
• Work under the guidance of the Chef Manager to maintain high standards of food quality and safety
• Collaborate with the Chef Manager and other team members to plan and coordinate menu development and meal service
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations, including food safety and hygiene standards

Requirements:

• Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen, preferably in an aged care facility or similar environment
• A relevant qualification in culinary arts or a related field
• A current national police certificate (or ability to acquire) to enable the individual to work in the aged care industry
