About the Role

The University of South Australia is seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Fellow to join our Academic Unit. As a Senior Research Fellow, you will play a key role in contributing to the research outcomes of the Unit, displaying leadership through high-level management and delivery of research projects, research income, and providing supervision and guidance to less experienced colleagues.

About the Academic Unit

The UniSA Allied Health and Human Performance Academic Unit offers a wide range of degrees and conducts research in the fields of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, podiatry, medical radiation sciences, medical sonography, speech pathology, clinical exercise physiology, exercise and nutrition, health sciences, public health, exercise and sport science, and human movement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and pursue a team-based research program, appropriate to the Senior Research Fellow appointment level, which contributes to the Academic Unit's research agenda and generates opportunities for collaboration with other researchers/academics within and external to the Academic Unit.
  • Lead and conduct high-quality collaborative research, including side projects in training and credentialling.
  • Publish research in high-quality ranked international journals.
  • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate (research) students relevant to the projects.
  • Mentor less experienced staff and postgraduate students within the staff member's field of expertise.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • A doctoral qualification in a health-related discipline.
  • Advanced skills in conduct of all stages of research in a health service context.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in undertaking quality research activities and providing research leadership and high-level experience writing up research findings for a variety of audiences.
  • A strong record of peer-review high-quality publications and conference presentations.
  • High-level organisational skills and experience in managing projects with multiple priorities, in monitoring workflow and in managing resources to meet objectives and deadlines.
