Position Overview:

The National Business Development Manager will play a crucial role in driving the growth and expansion of our services across the country. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of the construction and engineering sectors, particularly in marine and bridge projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with key stakeholders, and leading initiatives to enhance the business's market presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape.
  • Analyse customer needs and preferences to tailor service offerings accordingly.
  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve revenue targets.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with government agencies, construction firms, and engineering companies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry partners.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of proposals and bids for projects.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure proposals are competitive and align with client expectations.
  • Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote company services and establish connections.
  • Represent the company in industry associations and forums.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure project feasibility and execution align with client needs.
  • Monitor and report on business development activities and outcomes.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on market trends, competitive positioning, and business performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Civil Engineering, or a related field - a master's degree is a plus.
  • 5-10 years of experience in business development within the construction, marine, or civil engineering industries.
  • Ability to conduct thorough market research and identify new opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of piling and foundation technologies, particularly in marine and bridge applications.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet clients and attend industry events.
  • Highly developed relationship management, business development, and sales skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and driven to achieve targets and deliver results.
  • Excellent customer service, negotiation, and closing abilities.
  • Strong skills in developing proposals and delivering presentations.
  • Time management and planning skills.
  • Proficiency with data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
