Job Title

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Education Support Specialist to join our school community.

The successful applicant will be responsible for leading, mentoring, coaching and modeling good practices for other Education Assistants. They will be an important leader supporting school leadership in leading and managing the Education Assistant workforce.

This is a permanent part-time position commencing Term 4, at a vibrant country school with a proud history and a strong community spirit.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be highly professional, and be able to build and maintain effective team-based relationships.

They should also be able to contribute to the design and implementation of documented plans and provide solutions to support teachers and education assistants, which promote positive student behaviour and improved educational outcomes in the classroom.

The role requires discretion in problem solving, decision making, and choosing methods and processes to achieve outcomes.

  • Demonstrated considerable knowledge and understanding of the delivery of education programs and/or behaviour management plans;
  • Ability to identify problems and assist teachers and other Education Assistants in the development of strategies and solutions;
  • Well-developed oral communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to lead, mentor, coach, induct and train other Education Assistants and professional teams;
  • Well-developed written communication skills, including report writing, and the ability to coordinate, collect and present student data at a whole school community level in a meaningful way;
  • Well-developed organisational skills, including the ability to coordinate staff rosters and relief to assist in the delivery of effective education programs;
