About the Role

Flourish Australia is seeking a highly skilled Senior Leadership Team member to fill the position of General Manager, Lived Experience Leadership and Advocacy.

This senior leadership role is responsible for embedding an organisational culture that respects people with lived experience of mental health issues across the organisation. The successful candidate will lead co-production and advocacy activities to integrate lived experience perspectives, leadership and governance within Flourish Australia.

The position supports the organisation's commitment to human rights and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities by guiding improvements in services, support, and inclusion available to people with lived experience through leadership, advocacy, influence, knowledge, networking, continuous learning, and persistence.

About You
  • You possess a high level of skill, expertise, and personal attributes required to effectively perform the inherent requirements of this position description and achieve the performance agreement agreed with the Chief Executive Officer.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage relationships at all levels of the organisation, including staff at remote locations.
  • You think laterally and contribute significantly at high-level meetings.
  • You possess strong problem-solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • You help embed human rights, equity, and diversity principles in all aspects of the organisation to meet the needs of a complex and diverse society.
