About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our health promotion and public health efforts in Queensland. As an Advanced Health Promotion Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating complex statewide preventive health policies and strategies to improve the health and wellbeing of Queenslanders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement evidence-based preventive health policies and programs, particularly for priority population groups.
  • Provide expert advice to senior management and stakeholders on preventive health efforts to tackle the burden of chronic disease effectively in Queensland.
  • Lead collaboration with internal and external partners to boost preventive health efforts and improve policy implementation and evaluation.
  • Manage a small team, setting clear direction, motivating and inspiring staff, and fostering an environment where employees feel valued, developed, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
Requirements
  • Advanced knowledge, expertise, and skills in crafting effective solutions to complex statewide preventive health policy issues.
  • Proven ability to independently drive strategic change by leveraging strong communication, consultation, and negotiation skills.
