Position Overview
CareSouth is currently in search of Casual Supervised Contact Workers to become part of the CareSouth Shoalhaven team.
Are you someone with significant life experience? Do you have a background in working with children and young individuals? This role may be particularly suitable for retired educators, professionals from the child protection or welfare sectors, or individuals with foster care experience. We welcome candidates who have experience with children and are looking for a flexible casual role.
Reporting to the Team Leader, the Supervised Contact Worker is tasked with delivering high-quality supervision during visits between children and/or young individuals in care and their families. It is essential to prioritize the child's best interests throughout these interactions. The goal is to facilitate safe and constructive visits that foster positive relationships between the parent/participant and the child/children.
Key Qualifications:
- A strong commitment to the safety of children, young people, and individuals with disabilities.
- Tertiary qualifications or progress towards a relevant field such as social welfare, psychology, education, or counseling.
- A valid First Aid Certificate.
- Exceptional communication, conflict resolution, and negotiation abilities.
- Strong observational skills and proficiency in report writing.
- Knowledge of child protection laws and mandatory reporting obligations.
- A solid understanding of child development principles.
- Capacity to maintain impartiality at all times.
- Competence in assessing risks in various situations.
- A current driver's license, a comprehensively insured vehicle, a mobile phone, and access to a computer.
