We are seeking a confident and passionate Disability Support Worker to join our team in providing in-home support and accommodation services in Mount Barker and Strathalbyn areas.

This role involves working in various settings, including in-home support, SIL/Accommodation, group settings, and occasional community support. We are looking for a candidate with a relaxed and understanding approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work flexible shifts, including overnight shifts.

As a Disability Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to develop your career with our organization, which provides paid on-the-job training, annual refreshers, and paid induction training. To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A willingness to learn new skills and obtain a Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Passion for health and safety, demonstrated through maintaining Senior First Aid, CPR, and Safe Environments for Children and Young People certifications.
  • An NDIS Worker Check and Working with Children Check.
  • A current Australian driver's license.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing person-centered active support to individuals with disabilities, promoting their engagement in their lives.
  • Assisting clients with personal and health care needs, including pushing wheelchairs, undertaking wheelchair transfers, and performing manual tasks.
  • Assisting with household and venue duties, such as cleaning, washing, ironing, shopping, and meal preparation.
  • Ensuring client notes are accurate and up-to-date.
