AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for designing, planning, delivering, and operating all AWS global infrastructure. Our team works on the most challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain.

You'll collaborate with a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers to help us deliver high standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.

We have an opening for a Project Design Electrical Engineer in Sydney. This role will lead design projects in operational data centers that remediate issues, upgrade existing infrastructure or add new services.

As a Project Design Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading design projects from start to finish. You will own the design for existing data center upgrades and design solutions that add data center infrastructure, capacity, improve availability, and/or increase sustainability.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Lead design projects in operational data centers.
  2. Develop and implement design solutions to remediate issues, upgrade existing infrastructure or add new services.
  3. Collaborate with internal and external teams to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered.
  4. Manage concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions.
  5. Act as a technical subject matter expert for electrical systems during new remediation projects.
  6. Support construction, commissioning, operations, and turnover.

About the Role

This role requires strong engineering judgment, attention to detail, and experience managing engineering projects and consultants. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 8+ years of design experience in mission-critical facilities.
