About the Role

The Data Architect will play a key role in shaping the Department's data strategy and roadmap, working closely with stakeholders across the business to develop a vision for the department's use of data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice on data architecture and management best practices for implementation within the Department.
  • Design business intelligence strategies and reports in response to evolving business needs.
  • Engage with stakeholders to develop the vision for the department's use of data.
  • Analyse data-related business needs with business analysts and technology teams.
  • Provide assurance over data solutions and make recommendations to ensure compliance with relevant policies, strategies, and industry best practice.
  • Analyse, plan, and define data architecture framework, including security, reference data, metadata, and master data.
  • Work with the Department's enterprise architects to develop and modify enterprise architecture.
  • Provide expertise in the development and maintenance of big data platforms, including data visualisation products.
  • Lead the overall technical solution design of big data platforms to support business capabilities.
  • Provide expertise in designing services for data quality, including cleansing, standardisation, enrichment, and matching.
  • Provide technical expertise in configuring systems for high availability, automated failover, and disaster recovery.
  • Integrate industry-tested methodologies for optimising and streamlining data processing best practices.
  • Create and update various documentation, including technical specifications, technical designs, and matrices.
About the Team

The Data Architect will be part of a dynamic team at Whizdom Recruitment, working closely with the Section Director and other stakeholders to deliver business outcomes.

Requirements
  • Australian citizenship.
  • NV1 Security Clearance.
