We are collaborating with a prominent Mining Asset Owner in search of a dedicated and hands-on Mechanical Engineer to oversee the daily operations of a wastewater treatment facility at a remote mining site. This role involves providing mechanical engineering expertise to pinpoint enhancement opportunities and execute a range of capital and maintenance projects aimed at ensuring optimal efficiency of the asset.
Key Responsibilities:- Identify and propose improvement initiatives.
- Oversee small-scale capital and operational projects throughout their entire lifecycle.
- Deliver mechanical engineering support for the wastewater treatment plant and associated infrastructure, including pumps, piping, and storage tanks.
- Engage in defect elimination processes, suggesting project and maintenance strategies, repairs, and modifications for equipment.
- Offer engineering and technical assistance to project construction teams and leaders as necessary.
- Review and uphold standards for design, construction, and maintenance activities.
- Promote a culture of safety and demonstrate behaviors that align with the company’s values.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Demonstrated experience in a fixed plant environment within the mining, oil & gas, or heavy industrial sectors.
- Familiarity with wet plants, pumps, piping, and/or wastewater treatment settings is highly desirable.
- Proven track record in managing multiple capital and operational expenditure projects simultaneously, with a clear understanding of all project deliverables.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with effective stakeholder management capabilities.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and managing contractors or engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) teams.
- Knowledge of reliability and maintenance functions.
