About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Underground Heavy Equipment Fitter to join our team at Gold Fields. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our underground equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including drills, trucks, and loaders.
  • Conduct scheduled inspections and servicing to prevent breakdowns and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical issues, utilizing your expertise and knowledge of mining technologies and equipment.
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of apprentices and trainees, as well as supervising contractors.
  • Requisition and process maintenance orders, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of maintenance services.
Requirements
  • Australian recognized Heavy Mechanical Trade Qualification.
  • Previous experience in mechanical maintenance in an underground or surface environment, with knowledge of mining technologies and equipment.
  • Desirable experience with Atlas M7C and E7C drills, MT6020 and MT65 trucks, CAT R2900 and R1700 loaders, and Sandvik development drills DD421.
  • Automotive Air Conditioning license preferred but not essential.
  • Valid C Class Manual driver's license.
  • Previous SAP & AMT experience is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
