Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the delivery of innovative, high-quality automation solutions, including concept design, detailed CAD models, 2D manufacturing drawings, prototype build, testing, and validation, and transfer to manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, customers, and suppliers on new product development and support of the existing product range.
  • Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge with the team.
  • Develop 2D drawings for manufacture, with knowledge of GD&T desirable.
  • Understand materials and manufacturing techniques.
  • Deliver results within agreed timeframes.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Industrial Design, or similar).
  • 8+ years of experience in product design engineering, ideally within machine, small appliance, or materials handling fields.
  • Experience in designing automation products with electro-mechanical components, including motors, gears/pulleys, and sensors.
  • Out-of-the-box thinking and creativity.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of building effective relationships with all stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
