About Norwest Private Hospital

Norwest Private Hospital is a 277-bed acute care facility situated in the Hills District of Sydney, approximately 40kms north west of the CBD. It provides a wide range of health services including perioperative department, ICU, CCU, angiography suite, surgical wards, orthopaedic ward, medical ward, maternity and women's health unit, and 24-hour emergency department.

The hospital comprises of 19 state-of-the-art operating theatres - 8 integrated, and one hybrid, cardiac catheterisation theatre, 32 bay first stage recovery, a surgical admissions centre with second stage recovery, preadmission clinic, 2 dedicated endoscopy suites, and CSSD. Major specialties include cardiothoracics, orthopaedics, neurosurgery, general surgery, urology, plastics, ENT, obstetrics and gynaecology, maxillo-facial, robotic surgery, and endoscopy.

Job Description: Perioperative Orderly Supervisor

This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Perioperative team on a full-time basis as a Perioperative Orderly Supervisor. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring efficient and high-level supportive operational service standards are met within the Perioperative department.

As the Perioperative Orderly Supervisor, you will manage the Operating Theatre Orderly Team and report directly to the Peri-Operative Services Manager. You will roster, allocate team members, delegate tasks, ensure daily operations are accurately and efficiently performed by the orderly team, workforce planning, and development, participate in WHS and infection control strategies.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that all team members are working efficiently and effectively to meet the needs of the department
  • Developing and implementing plans to improve workflow and productivity
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting to management as required
  • Identifying and addressing any issues or concerns that may impact the smooth operation of the department
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5 years' experience in an operating theatre orderly role
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • A sound understanding of the operating theatre environment and ability to anticipate needs
  • Strong written and computer skills – including MS office
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail

Salary & Benefits
