Key Responsibilities- Negotiate contractual changes and variations with the Principal and Subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution.
- Monitor contractual communications and draft necessary notices to maintain project momentum.
- Maintain variations and correspondence registers to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
- Collaborate with the Finance Manager to ensure accurate financial provisions and budgeting.
- Supervise dispute processes and manage internal change processes to minimize project risks.
- Support internal and external audit processes to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Provide commercial management training and coaching to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Develop and maintain project commercial documentation to ensure clarity and transparency.
- Ensure compliance with commercial management systems and procedures to maintain project integrity.
- Conduct internal and external audits to identify areas for improvement and optimize project outcomes.
- Provide commercial reporting to stakeholders to ensure informed decision-making.
- A degree-level qualification in a relevant field, such as business, finance, or project management.
- A recognized project management or commercial management qualification or accreditation, such as PRINCE2 or APMP.
- Significant practical experience as a senior project or commercial manager, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the rail, telecoms, or construction industry.
- A demonstrated understanding of applying commercial management principles in high-risk and complicated projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex commercial concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Good leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and make informed decisions.
- Adaptability and flexibility, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements.
