Job Title: Quantitative Risk Lead

ClearCompany is seeking a highly skilled Quantitative Risk Lead to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing risk management strategies to optimize investment decisions in wholesale energy markets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement sophisticated quantitative risk models for assessing and managing risks associated with wholesale energy trading and investments.
  • Conduct in-depth statistical analyses to evaluate market risks, including price volatility and liquidity, providing actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Work closely with trading, finance, and operations teams to integrate risk management practices across the organization, fostering a culture of risk awareness.
  • Continuously monitor wholesale energy market trends and emerging risks to inform risk management strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Prepare comprehensive risk reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key risks and recommended actions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in quantitative risk analysis specifically within the wholesale energy sector.
  • Strong understanding of energy markets, trading dynamics, and financial instruments, with a focus on risk exposure.
  • Proficiency in statistical software and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB) for data analysis and model development.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a focus on problem-solving and strategic thinking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey complex risk concepts and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.
