Electrical Operations and Maintenance Specialist

We are currently seeking an experienced Coal Handling Preparation Plant (CHPP) Operator - Electrical at our Wilpinjong mine.
The mine is an open-cut operation located 58 kilometres northeast of Mudgee, producing high-quality thermal coal for export and domestic markets. The mine has a life extending into the 2030s and we are exploring options to expand it further.
This role reports to the CHPP Shift Supervisor and involves operating all areas of the Coal Preparation plant in line with production schedules while working within a small crew.
The majority of trade work is completed by external contractors during planned shutdowns, making this role focus more on processing and first-pass maintenance/trade work with good variety.
To provide variety in your day, duties will include:
- Operating and monitoring the preparation plant to optimize production and quality as directed by the CHPP Production Supervisor.
- Identifying, reporting, and acting on all hazards, complying with the Health, Safety and Environment Management System.
- Performing train loading operations in line with train schedules and blend parameters.
- Conducting CHPP roving duties to monitor performance and make adjustments as required.
- Performing first response breakdown maintenance tasks as needed.
- Conducting P.M. inspections.
- Operating stockpile dozers to manage the product coal stockpile.
- Operating stockpile dozers for reclaim operations and train loading.
- Maintaining CHPP equipment during scheduled maintenance periods.
- Maintaining cleanliness of all areas of the CHPP and Train Loadout.
This position is offered on a family-friendly rotating 5:4 even time roster with a mix of days and nights, allowing you to enjoy a residential lifestyle in the nearby Mudgee district.
You will have ample time for leisure and family activities with six weeks of annual leave, and only a three-hour drive to Sydney or the coast.

To be successful in this role, you must have an electrical trade qualification and be a proactive team player, with:
- An electrical qualified supervisor's certificate.
- A minimum of three years of operations/maintenance experience in a CHPP.

- A willingness to work on a 24/7 rotating shift roster.
