We are seeking a skilled Heavy Plant Technician to join our team.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for passionate individuals interested in heavy machinery to work across quarry operations. As a Heavy Plant Technician, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing heavy mobile plant and quarry machinery such as crushers, screeners, loaders, excavators, haul trucks, skid steers, conveyors, and fixed plant equipment.
The role combines hands-on experience with study towards a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology. This 4-year structured apprenticeship will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to excel in this field.
You will have the opportunity to learn from experienced technicians and develop your skills in diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults in quarry machines. You will also gain expertise in hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems maintenance, preventative servicing and inspections, welding, fabrication, and field repairs.
Safety is a top priority in this role, and you will be expected to maintain accurate documentation and servicing records. You will also be part of a team that focuses on safety and collaboration.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Completed Year 10 or higher
- Driver's license
- Willingness to work in tough environments (dust, noise, heavy lifting)
- Reliability, resilience, pride in workmanship
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail
- Self-motivated
This role is based in Dubbo, with travel across Central West NSW and rostered weekend work required. If you are a motivated and skilled individual who is passionate about heavy machinery, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
