We are seeking a highly motivated and caring individual to join our team as a Prison Chaplain, providing emotional and pastoral support to prison inmates, staff, and their families.
About the Role:This rewarding position involves offering spiritual guidance, support, and care to individuals from diverse backgrounds and beliefs.
As a Prison Chaplain, you will work collaboratively with Correctional Services Chaplains and local churches to build supportive relationships and promote spiritual growth.
You will be part of the Anglicare Justice Chaplaincy team, reporting to the Justice & Community Chaplaincy Manager, and working towards achieving our organisation's mission and values.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide emotional and pastoral support to prison inmates, staff, and their families
- Develop and lead spiritual programs, including chapel services and Bible studies
- Build relationships with local churches and Christian ministry organisations
- Collaborate with Correctional Services Chaplains and other stakeholders to achieve our organisation's goals
- Ensure compliance with Corrective Services security checks and licensing requirements
- Ordained Minister of the Anglican Church of Australia, licensed within the Diocese of Bathurst, or eligible for licensure
- Minimum of five years' experience in pastoral ministry, preferably in a parish or chaplaincy setting
- Demonstrated competence in pastoral care, emotional support, and spiritual guidance
- Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
- Able to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team
- Personal commitment to growth in the Christian faith
- Current and valid driver's licence and willingness to travel
