About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workplace Law Specialist to join our team at Avant Mutual. As a Workplace Law Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality legal advice and services to our members and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver timely and effective legal advice and services in respect of workplace law matters to our members and clients.
  • Provide professional, thorough, and effective legal services to achieve the best outcome for our members and clients.
  • Represent medical practitioners and medical practices in courts, tribunals, and inquiries and instruct counsel in complex cases.
  • Contribute to the collective knowledge and learning of our team on employment, safety, and discrimination issues.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary legal qualifications.
  • Eligible to hold an unsupervised practising certificate as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW/SA/QLD (as relevant) and the High Court of Australia.
  • Demonstrated post-admission experience (ideally over 3 years) in either respondent and/or applicant employment law.
  • The ability to express ideas effectively with proven excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of prioritisation, time management, and self-management skills.
  • Good computer literacy and competency to work in an electronic document management environment.
