As a policy professional, you will lead the development, delivery and evaluation of strategic projects and initiatives that align with regional priorities.
- Conduct high-quality research to support evidence-based decision-making on regional development issues.
- Monitor emerging trends, data and government initiatives relevant to economic development, workforce, infrastructure and investment attraction.
- Draft policy submissions, briefing papers and strategic reports for stakeholders and funding bodies.
- Assist in crafting thought leadership pieces to raise your profile and influence on key issues.
You will manage end-to-end delivery of strategic projects, including scoping, stakeholder engagement, budgeting and implementation in a team environment.
- Support funding applications and internal acquittals by preparing project documentation and tracking milestones.
- Apply project management tools and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
You will build and maintain strong relationships with government, industry, education, business and community stakeholders.
- Represent your organisation at regional forums, meetings and events to advocate for regional priorities and promote shared outcomes.
- Garner feedback, support and insights from stakeholders on key projects and your organisation's strategic direction.
You will provide high-level advice to senior leaders, including preparation of agendas and papers as required.
- Contribute to team effectiveness by participating in strategic planning and continuous improvement processes.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of the region and/or regional development frameworks.
- Experience in managing projects and/or developing policy in a government or economic development context.
- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to translate data into insights.
- Ability to work independently, think strategically and manage competing priorities.
