Senior Anaesthetist Role

Our hospital is seeking a skilled and experienced anaesthetist to join our team as a Senior Staff Specialist. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop areas of clinical interest within anaesthesia, ICU, perioperative medicine, pain management, medical education and wellbeing, and support continued improvement of health services by participating in quality improvement opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality anaesthetic services as a Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist (Anaesthetist) at our hospital.
  • Develop areas of clinical interest within anaesthesia, including obstetrics and regional, ICU, perioperative medicine, pain management, medical education and wellbeing.
  • Participate in quality improvement opportunities to support continued improvement of health services.

Ideal Candidate

  • Skills in epidurals for delivery suite and anaesthesia for obstetrics are required.
  • Scope of Practice in paediatric anaesthesia (5 years or younger) is desirable.
  • An interest or experience in Intensive Care management of patients.
  • An interest in, or experience in, regional anaesthesia and acute and/or chronic pain management.
  • Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA).
  • Current registration with/or eligible for registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia.
