The Gold Coast Bulletin is seeking a seasoned media professional to spearhead its newsroom.

  1. Oversee the creation and sourcing of captivating content across multiple platforms, ensuring seamless execution under tight deadlines.

  2. Develop and drive a content strategy that not only attracts new audiences but also fosters meaningful connections with existing ones through diverse digital platforms.

  3. Mentor, manage, and motivate journalists to deliver exceptional quality content that sparks conversations and fuels reader engagement.

  4. Strategically harness digital data to inform and enhance content planning, while maintaining a collaborative approach with regional teams and external partners.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Exceptional leadership skills, backed by extensive experience in newsroom management and content creation.

  • A proven track record of meeting business targets and exceeding reader expectations.

  • Expertise in both digital storytelling and print journalism, with a willingness to adapt to changing sector demands.

  • Strong personal organization and time management skills, coupled with excellent communication abilities and social media understanding.

  • Able to foster relationships with key stakeholders and demonstrate agility in a fast-paced environment.
