UGL and CPB Contractors are seeking a seasoned Construction Manager to spearhead the delivery of the HumeLink West Project, a 130km transmission line project that will significantly boost Australia's eastern states' electricity network capacity.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing the construction of overhead transmission lines, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the end-to-end construction of green and brownfield substation projects, including planning, execution, outages, and close-out.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, engineers, and subcontractors, to achieve project objectives.
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules and budgets, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Enforce and monitor strict safety protocols and environmental compliance, adapting risk management strategies for high-voltage work.
- Conduct regular site inspections to assess work quality, progress, and adherence to standards.
- Resolve on-site issues proactively and facilitate conflict resolution between team members and subcontractors.
About the Role

Requirements:
- Minimum of 15 years in power distribution, generation, or heavy civils construction, with at least 5 years in management roles, preferably in high voltage substations or similar projects.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering or a related field preferred.
- Proven knowledge of high voltage substation construction methods, materials, and regulatory standards.
- Strong understanding of OHS and environmental legislation, codes of practice, and industry standards.
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Relevant construction safety certifications and a valid Construction Card.
