Key Responsibilities- Lead a crew in conducting inspections and works, ensuring effective and efficient maintenance programming as directed by a Parks Supervisor.
- Oversee a team in various horticultural maintenance tasks, including garden beds, open spaces, and relevant park assets.
- Operate and maintain plant/machinery and equipment in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to relevant laws and regulations.
- Work within Council health and safety policies and procedures.
- Accurately record maintenance works, time sheets, and plant sheets or document on Council's Management Maintenance system.
To succeed in this role, you will possess a trade Certificate in Gardening, Horticulture, or equivalent, and have:
- Extensive experience in horticultural maintenance activities within the Parks environment.
- Experience in operating a range of Parks Maintenance plant and equipment.
- Proven leadership skills, ensuring team safety, training employees, and providing clear communication and instructions.
- A current Victorian Drivers Licence.
- A current Working with Children Check.
- Preferred candidates will undergo a National Police Check and a pre-employment medical assessment as part of the recruitment process.
