Our client, a leading Australian Superannuation Fund, is seeking a Senior Performance Analyst to enhance their analytical capabilities within the investment team. This role is available on an initial contract basis, with the potential for extension based on performance.
The primary focus of this position is to provide comprehensive analysis of fixed income, equity, and multi-asset investment performance. Key responsibilities include:
- Performance Analysis Coordination: Oversee the delivery of multi-currency performance assessments and attribution at both security and portfolio levels, encompassing market analysis and quantitative projects.
- Reporting and Query Management: Manage the preparation of performance reports and address inquiries related to investment outcomes.
- Attribution Analysis: Produce detailed attribution reports that highlight differences in returns between portfolios and benchmarks, including insights on asset allocation, portfolio characteristics, risk metrics, turnover effects, and market capitalisation.
- Timely Reporting: Ensure accurate and prompt reporting, analysis, and commentary on investment performance.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with Portfolio Managers, Client Managers, Client Services, and external entities such as performance consultants and research organizations.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to the enhancement of Performance Analytics and Investment Control functions, refining processes and procedures for better efficiency.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across Performance Analytics and Investment Control to maximize output and effectiveness.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in performance analytics, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. A degree in commerce, business, or finance is essential. Additional qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce or a related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in performance analytics
- Expertise in managing key investment management operations and processes
- In-depth knowledge of the Australian and International funds management landscape, including current trends and investment products
- Familiarity with both domestic and international securities
- Proven ability to influence change across functional teams and drive business improvements
