About the Role

Coronado Global Resources is seeking a skilled Electrical and Instrument Tradesperson to join our team at the Curragh Mine in Queensland, Australia.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, where you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our plant by installing, maintaining, and calibrating instruments used in mining processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instrumentation Installation and Maintenance: Provide technical assistance in all aspects of instrumentation installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for the plant's operational technology systems, process instrumentation, and final control devices.
  • Technical Support: Perform service, maintenance, and installation tasks on a broad range of technical and process equipment, including process instrumentation and final control devices.
  • Calibration and Verification: Conduct calibration and verification activities for process instrumentation and final control devices to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.
  • Problem-Solving: Use advanced problem-solving skills to diagnose issues in both analogue and digital control systems, process instrumentation, and final control elements, utilising P&IDs, functional specifications, and process flow diagrams.
  • Breakdown Response: Respond to breakdowns promptly, diagnose problems in process instrumentation, final control elements, and control systems, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Participate in breakdown analysis and root cause analysis processes to identify underlying issues and implement preventive measures to enhance equipment reliability.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Certification: Diploma or Certification in Instrumentation.
  • Electrical Licence: Current QLD Electrical Licence.
  • Experience: Extensive experience in instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting in an industrial environment, preferably in coal processing or similar heavy industry.
  • Knowledge: Proficiency in interpreting P&IDs (piping and instrumentation diagrams), functional specifications, and process flow diagrams.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of analogue and digital control systems, process instrumentation, and final control devices.
